The capped price of 318k will be shown if you meet all the rules (at least 2 non-QF airlines, etc). Until that time, each flight will be priced individually and the total can exceed 318k. Once you meet all the rules, if you’ve already paid more than 318k points, you’ll be refunded the excess.

what do you mean by refunded? should the amount show 318k capped amount or do you get refuned the points after booking so its a gamble as to whether its worked?

just popped a dummy itinery in using JAL and cathay and it showed up as over 318k each.

Hi Lisa, the price will be capped at 318k as soon as your itinerary includes at least two non-Qantas airlines. Until that time, the cost can exceed 318k, but as soon as you include those airlines the price will drop back to 318k and you’ll be refunded the difference.

I don’t think it’s possible to have separate flights for you and your partner, but best give Qantas a call to check.

Thanks for this detailed information – very helpful! However, I am still a bit confused about how to book a RTW ticket with points through the Qantas website. If I use the multi-city tool to book each leg (under the one booking reference), won’t I be charged at the normal number of points for each Classic Reward seat? What happens if the total number of points required to book each leg exceeds the 318,000 points required to book the RTW BC ticket? For example, if I were to book flights between each of the destinations you’ve listed in your RTW itinerary above, the total number of points for Classic Reward BC seats would be 467,600 points. Does the multi-city booking system recognise at the end of my flight selection that I’ve met the requirements for the OneWorld award and adjust the total points required to 318,000 points? Would be grateful for your advice.

Hey Kris,

I have secured the first two legs of the RTW business class for two persons under a single booking reference.

For the 3rd leg, I could not find two business class seats on the same flight from Madrid to Mexico City. However, there are 2 business class seats on different flights operated by Iberia from Madrid to Mexico City.

Is it permissible to book different flights for me and my partner under a single booking? Or both tickets must be for the same flights and travel class?

Comment on How to use Velocity Points to book Singapore Airlines business and first class in 2024 by Kris https://thehighlife.com.au/how-to-use-velocity-points-for-amazing-singapore-airlines-business-and-first-class/comment-page-1/#comment-14922 Tue, 13 Aug 2024 03:25:11 +0000 https://thehighlife.com.au/?p=108#comment-14922 In reply to Shiromee Gasperson.

Hi, the only way would be to transfer your Velocity points to her and then to her Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer account. There’s no guarantee the upgrade will be provided, however. You should be able to see on SIA’s website how many points you’d need. Good luck!
